Rashid had a rocky start to his career after he was cut from Yellow Buggies' training camp, and he might have quit the sport had scout Zhan Wai Ah not trusted in his intuition, and pushed for the young central defender to be accepted at Team Remy83 Novices.

The young man exceeded all expectations, and advanced straight to the senior side upon becoming eligible, and then on to Turkey and Germany, representing the nation at youth level on the way, before making his way back. Possibly underutilized at Grilled, he was nevertheless always a steady hand to call upon, and ever the gentleman even in the heat of a game.
